Private Lessons

Hand Building or Wheel
For each 2 hour session:
$130 per person

For wheel, we require a minimum of two separate sessions if you want to keep the pieces you’ve made. The first lesson, two hours long, is dedicated to throwing the pots; the second lesson, one hour, is for trimming the thrown pots.

For hand building, we recommend at least one two-hour session.

Each piece that is fired will be measured, and a fee of 4 cents per cubic inch will be an additional charge to the student if the student is coming back for a glazing lesson. Firing fee balance will be due when finished pieces are picked up.

If the student does not come back for a glazing lesson, the charge is $15/piece to be fired and glazed by our staff.

48 hours cancellation necessary for full refund.

50% deposit required. Balance due at first session.

General Class Information

All classes are for ages 18 and up, unless otherwise indicated.

In wheel courses, you’ll learn to use the potter’s wheel to create bowls, mugs, teapots, and more. In hand building courses, you’ll create unique ceramic pieces using traditional pottery techniques, including pinching, coils, and slabs.

Students are encouraged to practice whenever the studio is open and classes are not in session.

Complete payment is due at registration. A firing fee is calculated at 4 cents per cubic inch for each piece. (Clay, tools, and glazes included in class fee.)

Between classes, students are welcome to practice at no additional charge, providing the studio is open and classes are not in session. Open studio hours are: Monday–Thursday: 12–6:30; Friday: 12–9; Saturday and Sunday: 12–5:45.

Each wheel/hand building course is 8 weeks for $330.  Due to space limitations, we cannot offer make-up or drop-in classes.

Materials Fee

There is an additional fee of $40 for each course at registration. This covers materials used, including clay, glazes, tools and the cost of bisque and glaze firings up to 1000 cubic inches of pottery per course. When a student makes work that exceeds this amount, additional charges will be accrued at 4 cents per cubic inch.

Refunds and Cancellations

While refunds are not available if cancellations are made within 7 days of a course start date, one half of the course fee will be held as credit to your account for future course registrations (expires after 6 months). No refunds/credits once a course has begun.

For Sunday One Day Workshops, no refunds or rescheduling within 3 days of workshop date. No refunds/credits will be given once a workshop has happened.
